Kings Education: A great new coaching for CAT

Hi Fellows,

Last week I come across with the news coming from Jaipur. One of very good friends of mine Sudipto (most of you must be knowing him) told me that he joined some CAT coaching institute as marketing head. I enquired details about the institute and came to know that even I know all the faculty members. They are the same who taught me when I was going TIME Jaipur for my MBA preparation. These faculty members are dynamic professionals, very knowledgeable, approachable and friendly as far as I know. I am posting some details of them too. I think you might me knowing them if you are/were in Jaipur and try to persue preparation for CAT.

Anil Sharma has done his B.Tech from IIT Roorkee. He taught me Maths part when I studied in TIME. With an inborn dexterity to play with numbers and a flair for higher mathematics, he is second to none in the country for teaching the quantitative techniques required for MBA entrance tests.

S. S. Bhati did his B. Tech from MNIT Jaipur (Ah! my college)  and MBA from SYMBIOUS, Pune. he has his grip over the field of Mathematics and such is his passion for teaching his subject that he is often referred to as “Maths Wizard”. Winner of many awards at the national level, including the “INDRA GANDHI PRIYADARSHANI AWARD”.

R. K. Singh is a B.A(Honours), an MA and an MBA and is an alumnus of the famous institutions like St. Stephens & Hansraj College (Delhi) and IRMA (Gujrat). He is the one whom I suppose the best in his field. His teaching methods are very unconventional and very interesting!!

Anil Shrimali received his B.Tech from MBM College Jodhpur. Popularly known as the wizard of reasoning; he mesmerizes his trainees by teaching them quick fix solutions and simplification of seemingly intractable problems. He has a fetish for creating and solving agonising puzzles and head spinning problems.

I think one must consider Kings Education a good option to prepare for MBA Entrance.

Pink chaddis Vs Pink Condoms

The Pink Chaddi Campaign

"CONSORTIUM OF PUBGOING, LOOSE AND FORWARD WOMEN".

The Pink Chaddi Campaign kicked off on 5 February 2009 to oppose the Sri Ram Sena. The campaign is growing exponentially (20,035 members at this point in the life of our Consortium of Pub-going, Loose and Forward Women) and that is not surprising. Most women in this country have enough curbs on their lives without a whole new franchise cashing in with their bully-boy tactics. They campaign their protest by sending the Sri Ram Sena some love. They will send them some PINK CHADDIS (some number has been expected to increase in thousands) .

Make sure they are PINK. Send them off to the Sena. This is their peaceful way to protest SENA about what they did in Mangalore Pub.

VS

THE PINK CONDOM CAMPAIGN

"CONSORTIUM OF ASSERTIVE AND PROUD HINDUS WHO ARE SICK OF INDIAN SICKULARS CONSPIRING TO ATTRIBUTE EVERY VICE IN THE SOCIET

Y TO HINDUISM"

This campaign has been started as a response to some self righteous and progressive people who started the Pink Chaddi campaign. They claim that they are more democratic and transparent that the Pink Chaddi walas. They don’t claim inflated figures of support. There is a poll at the right hand corner of this page, which shows how many people support us, and how many don’t!

They say that 'Condoms' are necessary to save yourself from AIDS and to lead a progressive and secular life and as  Pink Chaddi walas claim themselves to be pubgoing, loose and forward - a condom will help them maintain being that.

They claim that they are the ordinary Hindus, who don’t bark on television channels to defend their faith, but they definitely get hurt when some people bark against their faith.

Now it is big question which campaign you want to support , one is proactive for women’s right in country and another is saying that something should to done to protect culture and believes of the Hinduism. Choice is Ours!!

Pune Trip

There are always something in life that can't be measured. Meeting friends is such a feeling. Pune & Mumbai trip was very awesome. I met friends, find some new developments and plan for next visit. Many things has been changed since I left MNIT, but still one thing is firm standing that I possess best friends in this world. I miss Shiv a lot.

Nothing had changed in Chandak. When I met for first time in Pune he was in usual Chandak's outfit like a Jeans which was not washed from centuries and a T-shirt difficult to analyse its color as it was that dirty. But now when he go outside he dressed well these days. I met Swati too. It was great to meet her. She take us for treat (I was bored of being there at Chandak's flat whole day and thus I see some market place in Pune)

Naveen was completely different. This time he seems to be pretty serious. Bhai ne ek job bhi doodh li hai. Pareek was in his pecular style and Ketan is becoming serious every day. He takes tension for Job and work. I got very little time there somehow I manage to meet Nandini and Parul. Nothing is changed in them. So in nutshell nothing much changed (Vaise bhi it will all take time, abhi waqt hi kitna hua hai- 6-7 months!!)

Yogi is still in form. In Ispaat Rathore's place is spectacular. Rathore is living in Grande` casa. He was very concern about future. I am attaching some of unforgettable moments...

1st Day in Pune!!

Being together with friend is a treat but being together with friend with chandak... is party in heaven. I got what I want here in Pune, a complete day with him after 7 months. I ruined my life in Ghaziabad but coming here and how I had been treated by both Chandak and Naveen is worth being thee in Pune. Naveen is always close to heart so there is nothing to mention more but party at DSK was just great. I also got encounter with police with Paro (He is used to this kind of stuff) and as usual he made them crazy(
Paro jo shuru hoa to khatm hone ka naam nahi leta), we save 400 bucks.

I hope in coming days they will not disappoint me and lemme to live my dream to roam around come true.

This girl made me cry

Music has the power to cause emotions to well up within us. These feelings are gripping - often irresistible - and seem to emerge from nowhere. After viewing this video I cried(I don't want to admit that , but yeah some tears certainly were there in my eyes). This shows a determination, will to fight destiny. It is hard to believe that a girl ( some people say special child) can fight against all odd and can sing so well. Her mother help her in very aspect and that is why we often says that mother is GOD.

This is 4.18 am in morning and I usually do not write anything this time. But after watching this video I cannot resist myself to share it with you. Watch the talent... Watch a True INDIAN IDOL

Effect of Diversification on Firm’s Performance: An Indian perspective

Effect of Diversification on Firm’s Performance: An Indian perspective - A research study

Abstract:
Despite considerable attention being devoted to the relationship between corporate diversification and firm performance, much of prior research has generally assumed away the impact of differences is in the organizational form of firms. This research study analyses the association between diversification and firm performance in a sample of up to 87 large Indian firms listed in Bombay Stock Exchange. Firm performance is measured by profitability ratios and for that ROCE and RONW is considered. Results from the sample show that more focused firms have higher profitability. This result controls for firm specific effects and other determinants of profitability. The results may indicate that listed firms may be under closer scrutiny and competitive pressures that ensure, on average, that these firms are at their optimal degree of diversification.

Keywords: diversification,performance, firm.

This is research study that I done in Business Research Methods course. Yet in IMT you have to do so many researches and projects yet this is only one in this sem that I was dedicated to. I am also posting a link of complete PDF file for reference.

Google Ads for Terrorism Spotted on Mumbai Stories

Unbelievable google ad spotted on the site IBN Live, is a typical example of the tactlessness of automated ad targeting systems.

If You we can't wake now we can't do it ever

Islamic Terrorism or incompetent politicians:

I am afraid now the war is raging inside my house and not on the country’s borders. My PM is telling me not to be afraid and to keep calm and maintain peace and harmony. He is not angry and his body language conveyed that everything is under control. But my PM has Z Plus security which is perhaps why he is not agitated. I am an ordinary citizen. How can I remain calm when my own house is on fire?”

This is the time to take actions against both terrorism as well as our incompetent politicians. Mumbai blast are not simple terror attack as there were many previously but they raise question that what we learn from past mistakes: Nothing. Our beloved politicians will take it as a chance of doing politics as elections are there in 5 states and everyone got a Mudda.

I am f**king tired of hearing these words again and again :
‘Terror has no religion’, ‘opposition (BJP) is deriving political mileage’, ‘Shivraj Patil was incompetent’, ‘Pakistan is the mastermind and must be taught a lesson’, ‘POTA is no solution’, ‘we are a soft state’, ‘all governments/politicians are the same’, ‘intelligence needs to be beefed up’, etc.

Is there any law exist in this country? We always shout 'India is great' . Is this greatness? What the f**k I am writing about ? Will any change can happen? People can say what are you doing by writing this , for them answer is simple I am frustated and I am simply writing my anger and frustration.

Attention all politicians of my country see this video and analysis how much anger is there in general public's heart. Where was Mr. CM of Maharastra that night, leave CM any political leader was there? None. Turning down Home minister is not the solution. You people tell us how many attacks US face after 9/11? Is terror not unpredictable for them? Yes it is unpredictable yet they made two war fronts just for 3000 lives and in India we lost much more than them and still there is no surety that this will not happen again.

Mumbai Blast

ATTACK, ATTACK AND ATTACKS

Again terror strike in our economic capital: Mumbai. This leave behind (not even behind war is on) so many questions
. Is a regular terror activity (We become to used to these happenings that I am using word regular) or its a Open War? This act of terror left behind question that who all are responsible for present situation: Pakistan, politicians, IB, Muslims, Hindus who all?? This kind of audacious attack takes months of meticulous planning. And as usual our “revered” intelligence agencies were caught napping. This disgusting scenario had become so commonplace, that I wonder, what the fuck is the need for these intelligence agencies, when they fail at a time when we needed them the most.

As I am going through various news channels i can quote that
at least 101 people have been killed in attacks by gunmen in Mumbai. The attacks have taken a tragic toll on the city's top police brass: The high-profile chief of the anti-terror squad Hemant Karkare was killed; Mumbai's additional commissioner of police (east) Ashok Kamte was gunned down outside the Metro; and celebrated encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar was also killed. This a great loss to the country as such as we lose brave fighters in this war.

Question still remain same: when will this end and who all are responsible? Most of us blaming Muslims but on going shor of Hindu terror act (Sadhvi Pragya case) will make picture pretty delusions. Why Muslims are targeted? I have really good friends among them but I never come across such thinking reflected ever in their thoughts (and I know most of you too). My one of very good friend use to greet me on Diwali even when is away from country and sailing in sea , where you have to use a satellite phone to make a call. Is this act of such people? I don't think so. Then why we blame entire community. Is it justified? I left with so many unanswered questions. Present attacks are clear cut indicator of Pakistan's hand in situation. terrorist came through channel of sea, what was our coastguard doing??Were they sleeping as govt is sleeping. I don't think now there is any question to discuss that how we need act like POTA more than before.

Even in this tragic situation politicians are trying to take leverage of situation. I got a message from some one 'Vivek' (As usual you cant see mgs sender's details). Message was in good spirit but still have political affluence. Message was:
Enough is enough, the terrorists have not only attacked mumbai but our national pride. India can no longer afford a weak Government. Mehangi Padi Congress. What did these last words means?? Clearly someone is seeking an opportunity to curse congress indirectly. I never advocate that congress is going right, even they are among having one of very bad time of rule in India. They failed to curb Poverty, Inflation, Depression in economy and most importantly national security. So many Blast!! Can we say there is a govt in India. Have you ever heard of any terror attack after 9/11 in US?? No. Why cant be we so firm in fighting terror act.

I am signing off from post leaving many questions here and thousands in my mind...
God please save my country...

Jai
Hind.

INS Tabar sinks Somali pirate ship

The first time the INS Tabar encountered pirates was on November 11.

In a swift action, warship INS Tabar intervened to thwart two near-simultaneous attacks by pirates on an Indian cargo vessel MV Jag Arnav and a Saudi flag carrier MV NCC Thihama within 25 nautical miles of each other.

The Indian warship received an SOS from the Saudi ship at around 1000 hours after a group of pirates surrounded it. Marine commandos on board the INS Tabar flew out in an armed helicopter and launched an assault on the attackers.

I am a poet and I never knew it...

My first poem:
.......
My Fear
There is a love that I wish to see
But, there is fear reaching out to more
My life is in a constant change more than in puberty
At times, I do not know who can comfort me.
......
I tried to hide behind a door
Today I lost that opening key
While my music plays,
These thoughts of fear will pass over me.
.......
It's dark versus light
Dark's winning the fight
I'm feeling it lately
The darkness had taken me
.......................................................................................................................
Many more to come...

Bye Bye Saurav Chandidass Ganguly!

Farewell to Prince!!

Saurav Ganguly, popularly known as Prince of Kolkata, Dada (big brother), or Maharaj (King), or Bengal Tiger, has played the last day of international cricket today. With this one golden era came to an end.

I am not that hard core fan of prince but no one can underestimate Saurav Ganguly in Indian cricket. He is noted as most successful Indian Captain till date, he is legend that creates fear in opponents mind whether he was batting , bowling or team was playing under his captaincy. Even critic like me who usually fight with friends about his declining performance appreciate One thing is for sure, he was a giant. The ability of Dada to come out from the difficult situations in life and in cricket ground was superb.

He start his career with test century against England at Mecca of cricket: LORDS. He was many times in news for discrimantory decisions by BCCI for his position in team India, but he always have an urge to fight back. Coach of Ganguly said : Indian got indepence 60 years back but cricket in India got free only at NETWEST trophy when Ganguly putoff his shirt from balcony of Lords. This was Ganguly who never give up .
Once a advertisement was there on TV : Kanhi Aap mujhe Bhool to Nahi Gaye? That I laughed a lot about that silly Ad, but Today I can say that No one who even know ABCD of cricket can never forget this great man of acumen and always bring pride for India. Prince you will remain always in our heart and I hope even after your retirement you will continue to give your best to Indian Cricket...

Long Live Dada!!

A BIG DREAM: MISSION MOON - CHANDRAYAAN LAUNCHED SUCESSFULLY

Indian Moon Mission: Chandrayaan I

On 21st Oct, 2008 at 6:22AM world wittessed the glory of Indian space program. India launch its first moon mission Chandrayaan-I despite inclement weather at the mission complex, Sriharikota. The other members of this global elite are the US, Russia, the European Space Agency, Japan and China. India is the sixth member of this club. Within minutes, the lift-off elevated India's position in the world. As dawn broke over Sriharikota, the mighty brown and white 44.4 metre tall four-stage Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rose from the launch pad to carry the 1,400 kg spacecraft 384,000 km away to the moon in the first leg of its mission.

Yesterday I got a mail from Shiv Singh which led to include this information also in this post. Behind the success of mission various PSU's are also involved. MECON ( My probable ex-employer) has major stake in this mission. It was a proud moment for Mecon because Chadrayaan take off from the launch-pad made by Mecon Ltd.The construction of the Rs 20 crore, 4-metre high mobile launch pad — which proudly supported India’s first moon mission — at Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota was executed by Mecon on a total turnkey that included design and detailed engineering of the equipment that was primarily manufactured by HEC.

“Mecon has built the first-of-its-kind launch pad, 82.5-metre long with four lighting conductors and several unique features."

This lunched has open the gateway to learn more about moon and led ISRO in a position where they can leverage the position of much strong Space mission agency in world and help them to generate more and more revenues.

Aiye Bharat Banayein: India Banao

India Banao:
On 20th Oct, 2008 a public forum for political networking is launched by Mr. L.K. Advani along with some corporates. I too witnessed the event. Launch was in FICCI auditorium and I was excited about going there. India Banao! is a platform for young people to participate in public affairs. Demographically India is a young country with millions of ambitious, hard-working youth seeking a better tomorrow. However, many young people believe that neither India’s political system nor its leaders are addressing the issues that really matter to them. The India Banao! initiative provides a channel for young people to engage with India’s political leaders on youth-related issues. Welcome speech is delivered by Mr. Advani.

When I was back from there it left several questions in my mind. Is this forum is not an arm of BJP?
Is this forum is talking that Advani Banao= India Banao ?

Answers for these question may be yes. I attended the launch with pure intensions but found that it is more inclined towards BJP. As such I'm not against BJP but I'm expectin more that at least this forum will not be biased and will definately represent the youth of this country. The party’s press release said India Banao! has been founded by three accomplished Indian professionals: Sanjeev Sanyal, economist and author, Jayant Sinha, investor and columnist, and Sheetal Talwar, film producer. It seems that the initiative supplements the BJP youth wing’s “yuva jodo” plan to reach down to the booth level to project Advani and recruit at least two youth per booth.

Questions raised: Most of questions raised in event remained un-answered. Advaniji try to skip nearly all questions as most of them nearly asking clear views about their agenda about Bad performing politicians, hours wasted in parliament, de-investment policies and Mr. Advani has some political restriction to answer them in front of media.

I can state that expections are not meet....

Donate Blood Save Life...

MADF (Make a difference Foundation), the social club of IMT Ghaziabad conducted a blood donation camp in collaboration with LIONS Club of New Delhi South at the IMT Campus on 16th October , 2008. I was responsible for operations of this event. This is for the first time in IMT I kept myself so active. It is not east yo mobilize people for this noble task but our team try their level best to pass the information to fellow students. Students and faculty participated in large numbers and the number of donors stood at 170.

Dr. B. S. Sahay, Director, IMT Ghaziabad and Mr. Anurag Anand, coordinator, LIONS Blood Bank inaugurated the event with Lighting the Lamp Ceremony. While inaugurating the camp, the director stressed the importance of mobilizing the youth towards the cause of blood donation and thereby serving the society.

“A Blood Donor saved my life” was the slogan used by the MADF to motivate the students to donate blood. The campaign involved a series of posters and banners which were put up all over the campus. We use presentations and audio video ads to create awareness; the most influential was the stunning street play highlighting the importance of blood donation.

Along with this blood donation camp we also put stall for the sale of SHASHAKT- Candle making project. This project is for women empowerment by making them eligible for pursue candle making as for their earning.

MADF (Make a difference foundation) is a forum run by the students of IMT Ghaziabad. The objective of the foundation as reflected in its name, is to make a positive difference to the society in general , through synergized and sustained efforts .

Convocation Likely be on 15th Nov: What the hell !!

Convocation is not just about the award of degree but it is the time when one get chance to reunite, cherish the past moments, wearing the rob and feeling proud of holding the degree (the greatest achievement in one's life). There are rumors that this year convocation @ MNIT is on 15th November. This will be my convocation i.e I will be the recipient of the degree of B.TECH. for which I was there for four years. I am waiting for this event very eagerly.

I was willing to meet my friends whom I havnt meet since long and suddenly this news spoils the mood. This trauma is about the date: 15th November, a day before CAT exam. Now I fear how many will turn up for the convocation day. Everyone is looking for bright career and management studies are becoming a important tool in this aspect. In this period of Economic recession ( some economists are considering situation worse than Great Depression of 1930s) everyone has a fear of job security so people are looking for admission in a management course. So it will be very hard for them to turn up for the convocation as they will miss their exam if they do so. Now I am fearing that will I able to meet my friends or cherish those moments when we were together in MNIT. As usual Institute Management is unaware about the important happenings around the corner. It seems they are doing it for the sake of organizing as it has become a part of every year's academic calendar.

From my blog I want to draw attention of both my collegues and MNIT's Management please look in matter. Friends it is the time to request Institute for shifting the date. I request our Director sir to please look in matter favorably.

A letter to Director:

Dear Sir,
I am Devendra Garg graduate (Metallurgical & Materials Engineering) from MNIT itself. Currently I am in first year of the post graduate program at Institute of Management Technology(IMT), Ghaziabad. Fortunately got into a management course from the college. Having a good time here. As few of juniors in the college told me that the institute is planning to have its 4th convocation, convocation for us (2008 Batch) on 15th November. I would like to bring to your notice that the CAT examination is already there on 16th Nov and most of us are appearing for the same, specially those who couldn't got through last year. So they in any case will not able to attend the day. Also most of the final year students will also be taking the test on the same day so there will not be a active involvement from them.
As you know this is one of the biggest event of the institute also the most awaited event for us. This is the only time when we will be meeting with our batch mates, our friends and the most important our college which we miss the most. I would like to request you to please reschedule it and give us the opportunity to rejoice with our loved ones.

Regards,
Devendra Garg
B. Tech (Metallurgical & Materials Engineering)

I hope authorities are looking this request...
